Delicious_Series3869 • 15h ago Yep, you nailed it. Simply show them the prologue, with Galadriel's epic narration, and watch as they proceed to continue the rest of trilogy.

But for me personally, it was the Mines of Moria segment. My first experience with this franchise was randomly watching Fellowship on television, and it starting from the Watcher. Moria was incredible, my child brain couldn't comprehend how cool this was. The rest was history.

ApprehensiveCrow8522. 8 hr. ago I actually recall that back in 2001 before the movie was released there was a short teaser on our main news channel from the door breaching scene in Moria... Effin glorious, I was hooked for life!

SundyMundy14 · 2 hr. ago I would 100% go with the Tomb of Balin sequence. I think it encapsulates so many of the best parts of LOTR without being overwhelming or too much to a first time watcher.

GusGangViking18 OP 15 hr. ago Boromir Personally I think the prologue to fellowship is so perfect that I would choose that and be like yeah you can just keep going from here.

thefilth5 15 hr. ago Beginning of two towers 65 Reply Share lilstonerbee 13 hr. ago If I had to show someone one SHOT from this trilogy it would be that of Gandalf and the Balrog falling into the cave

Cloud_None 14 hr. ago Bilbo's birthday celebration. It's lighthearted and whimsical but also establishes the fantasy setting well, especially with how it ends off with Bilbo vanishing as he puts on the ring.

Illustrious_Map_3247 10 hr. ago Good call. Merry climbing the tower symbolising the great influence one little hobbit can make, light humour when her realises he shouldn't be standing there, epic shots of the mountains, then Aragorn's fraught delivery of "Gondor calls for aid!" Would hook the out of me.

BigBeeean 11 hr. ago The Battle of the Hornburg, Théoden: "The horn of Helm Hammerhand shall sound in the deep, one last time."

Fantastic_Signal_622 15 hr. ago Sean Bean's death monologue or his victory speech from extended Rotk. An alternative that isn't a scene but should be an honorable mention would be a montage of his lines from FotR, Gold.

EMB93 5 hr. ago Maia Sam's speech at Osigiliath. Heartbreaking but also highlighting the epicness of the story. The flashy scenes are great, but I feel like the people who like those are already on board, I think a calmer scene would do a better job of convincing people who don't like fantasy.

AlbertELP 12 hr. ago It's a tie between Aragorn's speech at the Black Gate and Theoden's speech at Minas Tirith. But if I had to choose, I would say Aragorn.

FrenchieBammer . 8 hr. ago The Nazgul attacking Minas Tirith. Everything about that scene is awesome.

mercilessshred 13 hr. ago When I was a kid, I recall thinking these movies looked stupid. Well, my dad ended up buying Fellowship on DVD, and once that prologue started I was completely hooked. When you want a prime example of "setting the tone", it's the prologue.
